Visit forty-eight aquariums with over two hundred and fifty (250) small species of fish, amphibians and invertebrates. The Aquatic Study Center of the PUBLIC AQUARIUM of Brussels leads you on a fantastic trip along warm seas and continents.

 

The Aquarium of the capital city gives you insight  in a broad spectrum of environmental problems and this in a building of only 1200 square meters:

    • de-forestation and the disappearance of certain fauna en flora ,
    • the destruction of biotopes (by the over-use of fertilizers, pesticides or insecticides...) ,
    • les pollutions par les hydrocarbures et les marées noiresspoiling of habitat and creatures via oils and pollution of the oceans,
    • the over-exploitation of raw materials (reduction of biodiversity),
    • fragility of the food chains ...

The Aquarium of Brussels, the Aquatic Study Center is a permanent exhibition with attention given to:

    • observing,
    • understanding,
    • learning,
    • respecting,
    • Responsible behavior and actions.
